If anyone has ever deer hunted with a 30-06 they know it's bullshit. I will guarantee you unless he was using a FMJ, which I seriously doubt, there was an exit hole about the size of a quarter. If he was using a FMJ there would be a hole but it would likely be smaller but could be large depending on how much if any bone was blown out.
