Fullfact looked at this and before giving this a perusal I'd have said 'there might have been a link but after seeing this answer:
"The organisers said they ran the exercise because the world has seen a “growing number of epidemic events.” Previous similar exercises run by the same organisations and others have not been followed by similar outbreaks."

I don't like this answer ebola apart I can't think of another pandemic.
And the second line is a strawman.

So they handled the real pandemic the same way as they did in the exercise? I'd be more shocked if they dropped all the training and winged it instead. 🤷
