Ronald Reagan's campaign paid Iran to hold hostages until he was elected to tarnish Jimmy Carter's presidential run and the administration went on to allow a CIA scandle of importing cocaine and selling arms to Iran to fund Contras battling a grass roots leftist army in a foreign country in order to secyre American corporate interests.
