What is pneumonic plague and how dangerous is it?

Russian researcher dies of pneumonic plague exposure at a Russian research lab. Is it going to be a race between this and AI-gedon?

The US sees some 5 to 7 cases of plague each year. Usually transmitted by fleas on small wild mammals like the prairie dog. It is easily treated with modern anti-biotics if caught early.

The issue with the Siberian case is the lab "supposedly" has a history of working on weaponizing the Plague by making it anti-biotic resistant. That and the fact that the woman died only two days after reportedly breaking a test tube containing the plague.

Joke or not, I fear a weaponized plague more than AI.

I do believe it might be something more than what is being put out.

Supposedly and not officially, four Russian hospitals where in quarantine. Must emphasize unofficial sources.
