Spokane Burst Into Flames

Saturday afternoon, the heat dome and wind, took a spark, turned into an inferno, and helped it cross the Spokane, Washington river and turn Spokane into an evacuation zone.

The weather is unprecedented and this is not over.

Sure, the sun, the solar system and the planets have something to do with the big events, but this is on us and the US is under a management that does not care about what happens to the planet, as long as Musk is happy.

We cannot blame it on one person. He was elected by the people.

It is time for the people to move past their "single-issue" politics and realize that every single issue, including the 99% of issue they're concerned about, will go down in flames, right along the "single issue" they care about.

Totally agree with that last part. And you know we don't always agree!

He needs to go.

Too bad Washington didn’t “vote for” Trump. He will block any disaster relief, will blame Washington state, and Congress will let him.

@Northwest Damn, sorry.

@Bumbles This one was for the books. Trees evolved to expect winds from a particular direction. For the first time ever, the cyclone started out in the Pacific, off Vancouver Island, and created a phenomenon where a vacuum was created and the winod rushed over the Cascade Mountains, swirling as it descended from the opposite direction and popping giant trees. Meteorologists had to scramble to come up with a name for it: bomb cyclone.

Branches in my trees, as large as trees, got spiked into the ground by the wind.

@Northwest That’s so frightening and a horrible harbinger of what we are facing.
