Explosive Diarrhea

Cases of diarrhea caused by the parasite cyclospora continue to climb. I just watched an interview with a U. of Washington Physician explain the situation:

1. This could be in any kind of fresh vegetable/fuit.

2. You can't wash it away, so the pre-washed, pre-packaged stuff is NOT safe.

3. If you can't heat it 150F, toss it.

This could cause on and off explosive diarrhea for up to 12 weeks.

, and with the threat of weekslong illness and no certainty about the source, it’s easy to wonder: Is there anything in the produce aisle that’s safe to eat?

The outbreak has risen to more than 4,000 cases in Michigan and Ohio, and linked to cases in West Virginia and Kentucky. Michigan health officials said their investigation suggests that lettuce or salad greens may be the culprit, but other foods can’t be ruled out — and no specific type, grower or supplier has been identified as the source.

Trump want it named after him.

Don't forget this is summer and in this heat pools are another source. This parasite just isn't killed by Chlorine. Why washing vegetables doesn't work.

It's a diehard parasite.

Just so we are clear. The major source of this parasite is human feces. So the practice of recycling human waste as fertilizer. (Maybe because the cost of other fertilizer, which used to come down the Strait of Hormuez, has skyrocketed) can allow contamination which is not easily removed by washing, as it grows into the plant..
Several comments regarding the American diet occur to me. But good taste prevails and I will let them go..😷
