The minister for culture and identity in Canada (formerly the ministry of Heritage) needs to go. Trying to pressure the Canadian Museum of Human Rights to close or censor an exhibit to be in line with Zionist political and ideological narratives should be an immediate pink slip offence.

This is pathetic and infuriating.

And to anyone who thinks the Zionist position is correct I have a question for you. Do you think a government minister should be able to unilaterally dictate government approved versions of "history"?

If this is allowed to stand next time it might not go the way you like. This is bad for everyone.

@jshm2 Winnipeg has had a very strong Zionist community. It is most certainly not all Jewish people in Winnipeg but much like the Ukrainian diaspora where only the segment of the community with ties to the OUN-B get any platform from the government.

The Canadian government has a long history of manipulating diasporas for foreign policy and voting blocks.

Just say 'Jewish'. The collective aspiration to return to the 3,500-year-old Jewish community in the Levant has existed since the Bellum Judaicum, and has been part of the liturgy for centuries. Describing Jews as 'Zionists' is redundant, as what you call 'Zionism' is actually the default Jewish position. Antizionist Jews exist, of course: look at Naturei Karta.

Your statement proves that. Equating the desire of religious Jews to see the holy land restored according to prophecy by literal divine intervention with the secular ethno nationalist colonial project of Theodor Hertzel as being somehow connected. Hertzel despised religious Jews and many Haredi Jews see the current Zionist movement as heresy, Heck Hertzel didn't even really give a shit if the Jewish homeland was even anywhere near the Levant. And today the majority of Zionists are actually American evangelicals who only support Israel as basically a giant human sacrifice required for their doomsday prophecies of their own.

So it is not just the Naturei Karta either.

Heck even many from the Jewish Labour Bund saw where the ethno nationalist Zionist movement would lead 80 years ago.

And a majority position also doesn't mean it is a morally correct one. National Socialism was the dominant ideology in Germany and parts of Eastern Europe at one time. That is no longer the case.
