Oil Soars Toward $110 After Israel Strikes Gas Field in Iran

Israel hit Iran’s South Pars gas field, the largest such facility in the world and which Tehran shares with Qatar.

It's cool, Israel gets its own gas. Israel's major offshore natural gas fields—Leviathan, Tamar, and Karish - located in the Eastern Mediterranean, provide almost all of the country's electricity and enables significant exports.

We're also entering Spring in the Western world, and we get most of our electricity in Washington State, Oregon and parts of California is hydro-based.

I also have an induction cooktop and electrical stoves and drive an EV.

How are you doing in MAGA land? Maybe you should ask Trump to cut a deal with Netanyahu for natural gas.

Wind power here. And that's all year round. A close second solar during the summer. Must admit we import a good deal of solar from out of state.

Out here in the boonies, my rooftop panels keep my electricity down to about $20 a week summer and winter, which covers everything except hot water. And $30 topped up the car tank yesterday for the first time since the prices spiked. I can live with that..😷

I'm also reading where Qatar is not at all happy and condemns Israel. Careful Benjamin. Qatar is an important US ally at the moment. But they have no love for you. If they see the US as supporting your attacks on their assets they may change their attitude toward the US.

The field belongs to Qatar as well. This is getting real serious. Qatar may run out of money and demand the return of their plane
tRump 2026-03-16: “Look what happened, in the last two weeks. They weren't supposed to go after all these other countries in the Middle East. Those missiles were set to go after them. So they hit Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait. Nobody expected that. We were shocked!”

Actually, that's a lie. He was told.
WASHINGTON, March 16 (Reuters) - President Donald Trump was warned that attacking Iran could trigger retaliation against U.S. Gulf allies despite his claims on Monday that Tehran's reaction came as a surprise, said a U.S. official and two sources familiar with U.S. intelligence reports.

Pre-war intelligence assessments did not say that Iran’s response was "a guarantee, but it certainly was on the list of potential outcomes," said one source, who like the other two requested anonymity to discuss the issue.

Oh, wait, there's more, from Iran itself!!
Islamic regime officials weren’t exactly coy about it either during the tense build-up to the launch of Trump’s campaign on Feb. 28. “In the event that it is subjected to military aggression, Iran will respond decisively and proportionately in the exercise of its inherent right of self-defense,” they wrote in a not-so-secret letter to the United Nations less than 10 days before the U.S. strikes.

“In such circumstances, all bases, facilities, and assets of the hostile force in the region would constitute legitimate targets in the context of Iran’s defensive response,” they went on. “The U.S. would bear full and direct responsibility for any unpredictable and uncontrolled consequences. ”
