Air Force One jets are expected to receive a new paint job in President Trump’s preferred colors of red, white, gold and dark blue, The Hill’s sister network NewsNation has confirmed.
Both the luxury jet donated by Qatar and new VC-25B Boeing jets will feature the new colors, an Air Force spokesperson told NewsNation. The Air Force One title is given to any aircraft carrying the president.
Four smaller C-32 aircraft — which are referred to as Air Force Two when the vice president is aboard — are also set to receive new paint jobs, per NewsNation. Those jets are also used by the first lady and Cabinet secretaries when they travel.
Currently, all Air Force One or Air Force Two aircraft feature a blue and white design that’s been used since the Kennedy administration.
The first C-32 has been painted and is expected to be delivered to the Air Force in the next few months, the Air Force spokesperson told NewsNation.
Contractor L3Harris is working to upgrade the Air Force Two planes at its plant in Greenville, Texas, according to CBS News, which first reported on the repainting.
The White House did not immediately respond to The Hill’s request for comment on the matter. The Defense Department referred The Hill to the White House.
