I did a search and so far the only "news" (US or international) reference I see to it is on the Daily Mail, which I hardly regard as news. This however was just a reference to a drone incident near Dublin, but was not outright said to be an assassination attempt, in particular it noted the drones had lights on so they weren't trying to conceal themselves, and it appeared to be more of an attempt to disrupt or intimate than to kill. Making a leap to assassination seems speculative.
Indeed, to get more (including US) stories about it, I have to remove the word "assassination" from the query in Google News (and replace it with "drone").

@ThirstenHowl Sure maybe it was just an attempt to intimidate I was going on what few reports I could find
