Israel Doesn't Care About Ceasefires
ISRAEL STRIKES BEIRUT FOR FIRST TIME IN MONTHS: Israeli forces struck a building in Beirut, Lebanon, on Sunday, killing Hezbollah’s military chief of staff.
A ceasefire between Hezbollah and Israel was put in place a year ago, but Israel has continued to strike at parts of the country. The Beirut strike was the first on the capital in five months.
The Hezbollah chief of staff killed in the strike, Haytham Tabtabai, has been referred to by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a “mass murderer.”
With a shaky peace plan still in place between Israel and Hamas, it is unclear how the uptick in the bombardment in Lebanon will affect it.
Joseph Aoun, Lebanon’s president, condemned the attack.
