Trump warns Afghanistan of ‘bad things’ if Bagram Air Base not returned to US.

President Trump on Saturday threatened the Taliban government of Afghanistan, saying “bad things are going to happen” if it does not give Bagram Air Base back to the United States.

“If Afghanistan doesn’t give Bagram Airbase back to those that built it, the United States of America, BAD THINGS ARE GOING TO HAPPEN!!!,” Trump wrote on Truth Social, signing his name to the end of the post.

Trump just days ago said the United States wanted to wrest back control of Bagram Air Base.

During a joint press conference in Great Britain with that country’s prime minister, Trump said the U.S. was “trying to get it back” because the Taliban needed things from the United States.

He also said the base’s proximity to China was a reason why his administration wanted it back.

“But one of the reasons we want that base is, as you know, it’s an hour away from where China makes its nuclear weapons. So a lot of things are happening,” the president said during the presser.

Bagram was once the largest U.S. base in Afghanistan during the U.S. war in that country, the longest conflict in the nation’s history. It was abandoned in 2021 when the Biden administration withdrew U.S. forces from Afghanistan.

Trump has regularly criticized the Biden administration’s handling of Afghanistan.

In speaking about the base this week, Trump complained that it had been given back to Afghanistan for nothing.

I am sure China and Russia are watching this.

@Elessar Mussolini did invade a few countries in the thirties.
Fascist Italy is usually seen as not that bad because it's compared to Nazi Germany, but Mussolini was war-crazed and genocidal too. He just wasn't able to create the totalitarian nightmare in Italy that the Fascists did in Germany and Japan.

It will suck for the Afghans, but I'm in my accelerationist era now. I'm also hoping for more tariffs.

@BohoBabe Nonetheless he stayed in power in spite of the wars, it wasn't sending people to die in Ethiopia barefoot what ended him, that's my point. Nazi Germany and Japan harmed themselves with their expansionism only because they managed to pìss off enough nations that they ultimately formed a block stronger than them.

Look at how much popular support has changed in Russia after they collectively shot at their own feet in 2022. Not a bit, if anything probably it even strengthened, as many "apolitical" types really drank the "we had to do it to defend ourselves" and the ones with a functioning brain and/or any critical sense were drafted right away and sent to die out of sight.

Accelerationism is always dumb, and only benefits extremists. Last thing you want is give Trump the popularity boost that 9/11 gave to Bush.

@Elessar He stayed in power for a while during the wars, but it was because WWII was going so badly, that he was removed by his own party. It's also because of the war that the RFP lost power.
We could speculate that Fascist Italy would have lasted longer without the Axis alliance, maybe Mussolini would have avoided WWII like Franco, but who knows? My view is that Fascism requires constant war, which is one of the reasons it burns itself out. So even without Germany and Japan, it's likely that Italy would have kept trying to expand. Even Franco only remained neutral because Spain was recovering from its civil war.

All we can say for sure is the invasions and war made it harder for Italy, Germany, and Japan to do Totalitarianism. I'm hoping it's the same for America.

9/11 is a good example. It gave Bush a popularity boost, as always happens, but then his approval tanked because of his invasion of Iraq. It's a big reason why Obama won. Same thing with covid. Trump got a boost at first, but then his approval dropped because he was unable to handle covid. That's why we got Biden, who even back then was very unpopular.
If Trump invades Afghanistan without an extremely good reason, I don't think he'll get a boost. I think it'll be seen as a huge mistake, like the Iraq War. Maybe the media will be able to trick the normies for a while, but eventually reality will catch up, which also happened to Putin.

Accelerationism is dumb when the choices are Fascism or Liberalism, so Leftists vote for Fascism. But America is already fascist. Of course Americans should still vote for Democrats, but we also need things to get extremely bad really fast so MAGA is destroyed before they eliminate democracy.

Didn't Biden hand it over to the Taliban? Along with all of our equipment?

@Strictmichael75 You need to read up, and comprehend. Yes, Trump wanted out of Afghanistan, along with everyone
else. But there were agreements, and those agreements had to be met first, before we pulled out.

Biden ignored those agreements that were not met before pulling out. Those are the facts.

Wow the guy who demands personal military parades was lying about the no wars thing.

So the would-be Nobel Peace Prize candidate eyes up another war. This time it’s in a country where no one has ever managed to achieve what they sent out to do by bombing or attempting to subdue the local population. What a banana!

@FreddieUK Wild rumour....substantiated by absolutely nothing, and totally crazy.
Here goes:
Trump wants to be part of the New World Order and join in with Russia, China, and India.
He's selling out the US $, as those nations work towards another currency....possibly crypto, so Trump's all in.
Regaining Bagram AFB places it close to where China has their nuclear arsenal stored, so it's really part of the protection racket for the NWO nations.
Russia expands as Putin wishes, Trump takes Canada and Greenland, and Europe is squeezed into oblivion.

Like I said....totally insane.

@JSul3 As was the thought that the whole MAGA thing could actually become as powerful as it has in a country that was already great. 🤷‍♂

More and more delusional as time goes by.
