Incompetence on full display after a tragedy.

Charlie Kirk was shot and killed today at an event in Utah.

Proving their pathetic incompetncy, the FBI Director says that a suspect is in custody.
The Gov. of Utah says they have a person of interest in custody.
Later they say this individual has been questioned and released and they are still looking for the shooter.
Eventually this information gets back to the FBI Director.

This comedy of errors and misinformation does nothing but continue to erode the public trust in this administration and law enforcement.

It's very important that, in situations like this, that a united message be presented to the public.

This farce is what you get when people without any experience for the job they have been given, are in charge.

Today's shooting was tragic.
What happens when a major event like a 911 takes place?

Considering the folks who are in charge, you should be quaking in your shoes.

The reality of the complexity that can come with finding the perpetrator of a crime is not incompetence; the media misinformation is so often a result of the public demand for information before the facts are actually know. The public can't accept the fact that an investigation is ongoing and their curiosity can't be sated immediately.

@JSul3 Your bias is showing. You really think the media was not wnating information!!

@Zeusdelight

Again, who put out the misinformation?

Patel and UT folks.

@Zeusdelight And that the media wouldn't rip apart officials who said "no comment" or "wait for us to be sure"?

@JSul3 Not sure just what the misinformation was: They had a suspect, they investigated, they decided it wasn't him/her and released them. Nothing but actual up-to-the-minute information in that.

@ChipmunkErnie LOL!

Better go recheck the timeline.

@JSul3 I'm reacting to your timeline. And what makes you think the officials have any obligation to keep the media in the loop in an ongoing situation?
