(ANSA) - ROME, AUG 13 - The names of Palestinian and Israeli child victims since the Hamas attacks of October 7, 2023 will be read out at the scene of Italy's worst WWII atrocity, the village of Marzabotto south of Bologna, where 1,830 civilians were killed by the Waffen SS in 1944. Italian Bishops Conference (CEI) chief Cardinal Matteo Zuppi will lead a prayer vigil at the upcoming event, organisers said Wednesday. "We will read out the names of all those children who died in the Hamas attacks and the Gaza war in order to ask for peace," they said. (ANSA).
Cardinal Matteo Zuppi will read aloud the names of 12,211 Palestinian children and 16 Israeli children killed since October 7, 2023, each first name, surname, and age spoken in turn. A roll call stretching across 469 pages.
