Probably best if he takes over China before Greenland then.

@JamesBugman Nobody will win a nuclear war.
@JSul3 No especially since the land becomes unlivable after. Nucs are only for deterrence, they can never actually be used, but one day that will go next level. A weapon that selectively kills humans, but does not harm infrastructure or other life forms. A virus? A laser? Drop something from space? Maybe it doesn't kill them, just erases their memories or something.

@JamesBugman There is another weapon already in use, delivered via the Internet.

Did no-one see this coming? Some decades ago too, not just since the last American presidential election?
Maybe not among politicians, but certainly among the flocks of specialist advisors upon whom all governments rely.
We all need consider the common metals too. A country having no reserves of their ores has to import and refine those, or import the finished metals (and salvage as much as it can of its own scrap metals).
Of them, the three most important are....
Iron: crucial to virtually everything we do, use or own: pure iron is used in electrical equipment, cast-iron is a very useful mechanical-engineering material, iron is also the base element for the vast range of alloys generically called Steel.
Copper: mainly for electrical wiring and pipes carrying water, etc. It is also the base for the wide range of Brass and Bronze alloys. China controls most of the world's copper ore deposits.
Aluminium: too soft alone for most purposes except cooking and decorative foils; but alloyed with copper and/or magnesium to toughen it, becomes the primary material for aircraft and for a lot of electrical equipment.
.....
Regarding salvaging scrap metals, far too much is lost through ignorance or laziness, and that includes discarding or hoarding domestic electronic equipment containing at some of those rare-earth metals. Whilst scuttling a big ship as an artificial reef, criminally wastes thousands of tonnes of high-quality steel in one go!
