@Gibbon The college educated are uninformed. High output extreme efficiency tubes made in ceramic with aluminum heat sinks embedded into the envelope are quite useful for encoders, frequency drives, shf output amplification.

@SteelHands I learned vacuum tubes while in tech school. They were still being taught along with transistors and binary logic circuits. The applications you mentioned have no application in an automobile but plenty of military uses which could use the non vulnerable EMF characteristics. @HumanEarth Being analog old school I'm of the opinion that vacuum tube based audio reproduction is the most natural sounding.
