@kodiac caring about Americans (or any human really) isn't virtue signaling. It's called empathy. And you do realize several authoritarian stares border the USA too, right? Europe should indeed have contributed more, which we're catching up on that now. But America has a huge interest in NATO as well, and has by far the biggest population and GDP of all members, so don't act like it's unfair for you to contribute the most as well.

The problem with Nato is that there are 28 members only 7 are paying anything at all and the two biggest are the US and Germany at 300 billion and 97 billion the rest have to start contributing especially the non payers including what they owe in arrears
