One thing consistent in every shooting. We never find out why they did it, or what
caused them to become violent. We never hear about patters in upbringings,
or lifestyle patterns. Or maybe they know, but they do not want to divulge.

@DogMan I think many of the times it's people who feel bitter and powerless. Often they are outsiders and sometimes bullied. I do agree with you though that its not only the guns but there is definitely something else going on in American culture that is causing this phenomena.

@JimboSaturn Yeah, it would be nice to have something to go on. Blaming guns
is a cop out to the actual problem. I grew up in the midwest and virtually EVERY
household had unlocked guns and ammo, the neighbor kids knew where people
kept their guns, and nothing bad ever happened.

@DogMan Maybe you didn't but obviously many are doing that exact thing. Guns make it easy. It doesn't happen to the same extent anywhere else in the world, even in western countries that people are not very religious. They just don't have that gun culture.

@JimboSaturn Bitter and Powerless, I believe you have something there Jimbo.
So we would have to find out what made them bitter and powerless. Did they
suddenly grow up and realize there are no more participation trophies in life?
And blame the general population for them now being responsible for themselves?
I'm just spit ballin here. No one ever talks about the reasons these kids feel
compelled to kill.

@DogMan Ya I'm not sure. I'm sure there are multiple factors.

@DogMan yes that is YOUR experience with bullying I’m talking about reasons as to why some teenagers commit mass shootings.

@DogMan The psychological reasons for shootings are very difficult to uncover and take a long time to analyze. The immediate problem is the very easy availability of high-powered guns to every mental case in the country. Requiring a permit to buy a handgun, and ammo, would save thousands of lives. The permit would require a mandatory training class, background check and mental health check.
