We Live In Two Different Countries

Browsing through the Seattle Times, the food section, for new restaurants in my neighborhood. New Tempura place.

Tempura French Beans. 2 french beans. $4. High end french beans are $4 per Lb at the grocery store, you get 40 beans out of that. If you fry them at this place, that will net you $76 per lb. I'm guessing though that restaurants pay less for green beans than we do retail.

Small wedge of Sweet Potato Crème Brûlée is $12, looks real good.

5 hour wait time to be seated.

Better and far cheaper to learn how to make your own tempura. That price is because tempura doesn't keep very long.
