I want to make a compilation of negative news story headlines I read about Windows 11

Everytime I see one of these articles, it's something negative. Once I have this huge list of compiled stories, I'll say at the end, it looks like Windows 11 ain't so hot. Instead of writing a story about how bad it is, why not write a story about alternative operating systems people could use, so that we can all get away from Windows 11 and Microsofts bullshit??

I'm willing to bet, I know it's not so great right now... but, let's just say for fun Linux Mint (which I've used is extremely close to Windows) is being talked about over and over, and more people would start using it, I think that right there would be motivation enough for the team to really work on the OS.

Take for example Netflix, imagine if every Netflix user cancelled their accounts tomorrow. Netflix is going to notice that. Now, imagine if every Netflix user said, "if you want me back as a paying customer, you need to bring back shows you used to have on here" and you watch how quick those shows would come back up.

Without paying customers, these corporations ain't getting a paycheck. If us little people would come together on some things and actually show these businesses we ain't playing, I bet they would change course real quick.

We have the power, not the corporations. There are more of us than them, there's power in numbers, and if we all banded together we can make change happen. But people don't want change. They'll talk about change and how it needs to happen, well you first have to make a decision, and then stick to it. You need confidence and determination. Just like people say boycott! Yeah, sure thing pal. They're right back at that business 2 days later lol. Boy oh boy, some boycott.

And just to touch on that, I have boycotted ea (used to be more known as Electronic Arts) but known now as ea, I've boycotted them since 2013. Last game I bought from ea was simcity 2013 and they screwed me over. Alright well then I'm not giving them another cent.

Imagine if you worked at Walmart and every employee on 2nd shift had enough of Bill's bullshit (<---- just an example). So, all of 2nd shift decides they're all going to walk out. What's Walmart going to do?? Fire all the employees? Let's say the managers, co-manager and store manager aren't a part of this walkout, you only have 6 or 7 people to run the store. And there's no way you're replacing all of those employees that quick. Probably what they would do is call in other employees who work there to cover shifts, but half of them don't even show up.

That's been my whole thing, like I hear soooooo many times people complain about their job. So I look at them and say, okay then maybe we should do a walkout, and they cave instantly. Well you want to talk a big game, you follow through, that's all I'm saying.

The fact that only 30 % of Windows users have switched speaks volumes
@bookerdana oh there's a definite adjustment period for sure. There is an open source program I'd gotten, Libre office, replaces Excel and word and I was very happy with the program to be honest.

I just wish the Linux team would focus more on software compatibility over having a million flavors. If it was easier to use, that's what will bring in users, not more complicated.

I had it installed fully for all of 2 days, but I don't have full 110% knowledge of Linux, and workarounds, so unfortunately I had to go back to the Microsoft trap.

@twiigss I think the only way is to learn on another PC ,not install as a daily driver ...and I'm told dual boot brings a lotta hassles🤷‍♂️
@bookerdana the problem with dual boot is that every time you turn the computer on, after BIOS it brings up a menu for which os you want to boot into.

I used to dual boot Windows 98se and Windows 2004 server edition. There was an option to make an os the default but then once you did that you could no longer get to the menu if you wanted to use the other os.

@BlueGreenGrey I have the online account, but made sure to not tie it to my windows OS.
@BlueGreenGrey to me, it's like they want to combine Xbox features into Windows. Like on Xbox you have a profile, and when you sign in to that profile you can do more things.

Some Xbox games require you to be logged in to Xbox live with the profile, just to be able to play, which is dumb. It's like, I bought the Xbox, I shouldn't need to log in to Xbox live.
