Are you envious of Donald Trump?

Some people are getting very upset because of Trump's new limited edition sneakers. They feature a five-star American flag, a defiant image of Trump, and inspiring words from him.

Trump is a very successful man, and the attempted assassination has only led to more success for him. He survived, and he is celebrating that by releasing these shoes. They symbolize the events of the day, and show him surviving being shot. Are people envious of his success? Are they envious they cannot do the same?

Do they have victim Corey D. Comperatore's bloody head embroidered onto them?
SW-User
@Richard65 Do you care about his demise?
Richard65 · M
@SW-User do I care about a father killed protecting his daughter? Christ.
The question is does Trump care? The answer is clearly no. He's seen it as a marketing opportunity.
SW-User
@Richard65 Attending this rally was the last outing he would ever make. One moment Corey was here, and the next he wasn't. I do not know how Trump feels about it. I do know that he made a phone call to his wife, and she described him as “very kind.”
Richard65 · M
@SW-User and then Trump immediately saw a way to make money from the terrible incident and publicise himself like the true narcissist he is. I bet he'd already ordered the new training shoes before he'd even called the guy's widow. The facts speak for themselves. He really couldn't care less about the guy or his family. He's a crass capitalist. Money is his God, self publicity is catnip to him. Save your desperate excuses. I don't need you to explain anything to me.
SW-User
@Richard65 “He's a crass capitalist. Money is his God, self publicity is cat nip to him.”

Does Trump try to hide himself from us, or is he honest about who he is?
Richard65 · M
@SW-User what's that got to do with anything? You say that as if Trump being honest about who he is is a good thing. He issued expensive commemorative shoes in response to a terrible shooting that killed a father trying to protect his family. Do you honestly think that's a "good thing"? This is why people think Trump followers have a limited grasp of reality. You've entered Trump's warped view of reality and bought into it. I'll repeat: Trump issues expensive training shoes in response to a father being shot dead trying to protect his family. Do you think that's a good thing?
It's a simple question.

@Richard65 “I'll repeat: Trump issues expensive training shoes in response to a father being shot dead trying to protect his family.”

This is a lie. Trump released the shoes after he survived an assassination attempt. I can accept that it could be perceived as egocentric, but to claim that he did it “in response to a father being shot dead” is a mischaracterization of Trump and the events.

Being honest is always a good thing. Trump remains a unique and refreshing character.
Richard65 · M
@SW-User you literally can't think for yourself. Did a father die protecting his family? Yes. Did Trump issue trainers in response to the incident that resulted in a father dying protecting his family? Yes.
What you're saying then, is that the father dying whilst protecting his family wasn't taken into consideration when Trump issued the trainers. Do you think that's a good thing?

@Richard65 When did Trump start selling sneakers?
Richard65 · M
@SW-User a company he owns started selling limited edition FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT hightops for $299. They feature a bloodied image of Trump with his fist in the air.

The Trump Sneakers website is registered to CIC Ventures LLC, which a 2023 financial disclosure revealed to be owned by Trump, according to ABC News. The shoes are sold by 45Footwear, LLC.

SW-User
@Richard65 Are those the first sneakers he's ever sold?
Richard65 · M
@SW-User that breeze you feel is the point flying right over your head.
SW-User
@Richard65 Perhaps, but humor me. Are those the first sneakers he's ever sold?

@Richard65 In February? And to my understanding they sold out after what, 2hrs they went on sale? Feel free to correct me if you know better.

So which event and death preceded this sell off?
Richard65 · M
@SW-User that's the best argument you can offer? Seriously?
That breeze you feel is the point flying right over your head.
SW-User
@Richard65 No worries, just answer the question, please. What event and death was required to sell all monstrosities in two hour's?

@Richard65 You still have not answered the question.
. I get the question,

If you get the question, feel free to demonstrate that by answering it.

Edit: not answering a direct question does not make you look good.
SW-User
@Richard65 Aaand you ran off. Perhaps the questions weren't as simple minded as you made them out to be...🤔🤨

@SW-User Trump made a very belated phone call to the widow, but only after he started to get bad press for not calling. Biden called the next day and she refused his call. That's her prerogative, but at least Biden cared. Trump did not. He called for appearance sake only or he would have called earlier instead of golfing on Sunday.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@SW-User Trump marketed gaudy gold sneakers earlier this year. And after a tragedy, he is marketing Trump Assassination Attempt Sneakers now. While he has every right to do so, it illustrates his lack of empathy for anyone other than himself and his love of money. Anyone else would be excoriated for doing something so wrong and crass, and they would deserve it and more.
SW-User
@windinhishair I really don't care what you think of the man but If you are going to accuse him of using a tragedy/a death to sell of his "gaudy" shoes, you need to be able to demonstrate that he needs such a thing to sell shoes in the first place.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@SW-User He committed the act. An act that would be roundly and justifiably condemned if anyone else did it. Why do you give him, and only him, a free pass?
SW-User
@windinhishair Who else do you want me to condemn? Go ahead and name them.
