1930 Germany Who would you be?

We have all watched Shindlers List, and most of us identify with him, and believe we
would do the same things he did. But would we? The German people were first told
that the Jews were stupid and uneducated, and they said yes. Then they were told
the Jews were money hungry, and would steal people blind, and they said yes.
Then they cut off the Jewish publications, and censored them, the people said Yes.

Then they told the people that the Jews needed to be re-educated, and took them
away on trains to be educated. The German people again said yes.

Am I the only one that can see that happening again? Most German people did
not know about the death camps, because the government approved media did
not tell them.

Who would you be?

My great aunt's future husband and his parents said no, they supported the communists and had to flee when things got worse.

@NativePortlander1970 Were they Jewish? or just smarter than the average
people?
@DogMan They were Lutheran, however they had many, many Jewish Friends they tried to help escape Germany with.

@NativePortlander1970 That's great. I'm Lutheran too, and of German descent. My father
was in the US Army infantry, and fought the Germans in Italy.
@DogMan Synod or Trinity?
DogMan · 61-69, M
@NativePortlander1970 My church was called Zion American Lutheran.

In Northeast Iowa. Lot of Germans there.
@DogMan My mother's older sister was Trinity then went to Synod after her husband retired and they moved

@NativePortlander1970 We had a Trinity Lutheran church in our town, but not Synod.
@DogMan Personally I don't know the differences.

@NativePortlander1970 Me either, Lol. Did you go through Confirmation when you
were young?
@DogMan Yes, but with the methodists when I was 7, I didn't know any better then.

@NativePortlander1970 You would support Hitler. I have no doubt in my mind.
