It Cost $39 Million To Build, Opened End of 2019 & Has Been Closed Since The End Of Last Year Due To Black Mold…

Now the city is having to pay for the costs to remediate the mold. Also they didn’t finish in the time allotted due to more leaks and mold. Seems like a curse is on this city…and before this someone who volunteered in shelters and at this library said that it had been frequented by homeless daily ( a temporary shelter is located within a few blocks) and there were health concerns to the public who used it by this lady who voiced in a letter to the newspaper about germs on all surfaces…chairs, tables, desks, bathrooms, water fountains etc. I believe they should have stuck with the old library. The city recently remodeled it and it just reopened and they are using it now.

Which is why all contactors here carry professional insurance

@MarineBob I have been in this library twice. The bulk of the books are upstairs. When we walked across the floor there was creaking noises like an old wood floor upstairs in a really old house… I was not impressed at all. I think they focused more on how it looked rather than structure. I liked the old library which was a few blocks away a lot better.
That is really bad news. Mold spores travel and settle in and on surfaces. Those books are full of them. Then there is the lung damage caused by exposure to the mold. What a waste of money. And health.

@MasterLee Makes me wonder if the company went under, I have no idea about this.

I think that recent F5 stirred some stuff up, but DAMN, $39 million to build, what does it have, solid gold toilets and marble walls?
