The 25th Amendment can be quite cumbersome if the president does not admit in writing that he is incapable of carrying out his duties, after his cabinet declares him unfit.

Then the matter is settled by a 2/3 vote of both houses, a process not much unlike normal impeachment and conviction.
The process could well take a month or more. And in an election year? I doubt it.

Maybe, just maybe, Hur's remarks [i]were[/i] in the script, as a not-so-subtle threat to Biden that if he doesn't go quietly (for health reasons), there are many other charges he could be brought up on, although they were letting him go on this one.

The media coddled him. They covered for him, they reported what he wanted reported. Now if they’re very subtly distancing themselves from him, their condition this late in the game is not good. It seems the only person who is in Biden’s corner is KJP and that isn’t saying much. She might be seeing her spotlight dim too.
