David DePape found guilty in federal trial over Paul Pelosi hammer attack

"A federal jury has convicted the suspect accused of the violent hammer attack against Paul Pelosi at his and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's San Francisco home last year. The jury began deliberating Wednesday afternoon before reaching a verdict late Thursday morning, finding David DePape guilty on both federal counts."

This deluded person David DePape is now headed for about 30 in prison for attempted kidnapping and murder. His life is over. He foolishly believed deranged conspiracy theories which motivated him to attempt to kidnap and/or murder Rep. Nancy Pelosi. Her husband happened to be at home.

DePape has to accept responsibility for his actions. Yet I can't help feeling the purveyors of this conspiracy lunacy are also partly to blame. By posting these false conspiracy theories on their websites they are goading suggestable, mentally unstable people to acts of violence.

Be careful what you believe. Think rationally. Check the facts. Consider the consequences.

@FreestyleArt Of course...this is the two of them, in their underwear, opening the door for the police. Only then does the fake fight breaks out and you see the two of them rolling on the floor. Why would anyone start the fight once the police arrived?

Questions still not properly addressed. How did DePape get into the Pelosi compound. It's surrounded by a wall. There was no sign of forced entry. And all of the security cameras were coincidentally turned off.

- The Pelosi complex is surrounded by a wall.
- There was no sign of forced entry into the house.
- The security cameras were all turned off.
- When police arrived, the two guys answered the door in their underwear, and then began the wrestling match.

The story you're pushing is almost as unbelievable as Trump wrestling the steering wheel away from the secret service.

Pelosi got caught in a homosexual affair.

@BizSuitStacy Based on police statements, The Associated Press reported that the assailant broke into the Pelosi home:

An intruder (David DePape) wielding a hammer smashed his way through a rear door into the Pelosi residence in San Francisco shortly before 2:30 a.m. Friday. The man confronted Paul Pelosi and shouted, "Where is Nancy," according to a person familiar with the situation who was granted anonymity to discuss it.

Paul Pelosi called 911 himself and when police arrived they found him struggling with the assailant. The man managed to strike Pelosi at least once with the hammer before he was tackled by officers and arrested, police said. Nancy Pelosi was in Washington at the time of the attack.
The New York Times reported that Paul Pelosi underwent surgery on the day of the attack "after sustaining a fractured skull and serious injuries to his hands and right arm, according to a spokesman for Ms. Pelosi."

BTW The Pelosi house is certainly NOT a "compound". That wall has gates open to the street.

@BizSuitStacy David DePape's own social media and blog postings show that he himself was steeped in conspiracy theories in the months and years before the attack -- from musings about QAnon to antisemitic rants to claims of a looming takeover by the global elite.

@badminton oh gee...no one has ever faked stuff on the internet. The guy is anti-Trump. There were photos of him and a female friend dressed up like Donald and Melania at an anti-Trump rally to mock them both. You are either incredibly gullible, or are knowingly pushing lies. DePape was there having sex with Paul Pelosi, got caught, and then made up a ridiculous story.
