The $6 billion was Iranian assets held in international banks. All we did was sign a waiver release authority.

It was mostly from money owed to Iran for oil purchased by South Korea. The payments were stopped when Trump imposed sanctions on Iran in 2019.

South Korea didn't give the oil back!

I don't have a problem with that. Iran got money from oil that they had sold. And hostages were freed as a bonus.

Of course, not surprised Trump supporters oppose the deal. After all, Trump doesn't like people who are "captured."

@beckyromero Not just yet, although its certainly a fraught situation. It seems to me Israel knows better than to try to take a neighbour by force, when as the only nuclear power in the region they can place two or three well placed bombs and send Iran back unto the stone age. And not one of their neighbours will dare raise a hand in protest. So things have to get worse and Iran has to pose a direct overt threat to Israel.😷

Nuking Iran is probably not the best course of action at this time. Especially given Russian nuke threats about Ukraine.
