Trans people have always existed and throughout cultures and now finally societal acceptance is on the rise and modern medicine has ways to aid people with gender dysphoria.

@checkoutanytime Surgery happens once people are of age and hormone therapy and puberty blockers are reversible and nothing happens without a psychiatric evaluation. The US is taking lots of steps back into the middle ages... medical profs should make the decisions with the informed consent of their patients not conservative legislators that exploit peoples fears and biases to gain political power.

@Gloomy scienticly proven males impregnate females, this is also true for animals that lay eggs. There are only two genders, and we and animals are assigned to one or the other in how we develop before birth. Desiring to be born the opposite sex is a mental dysfunction.

Gender dysphoria can be very tough on people and the overwhelming evidence shows that the only way to treat it is to socially and physically transition.

@Gloomy i understand people think its for them, and I can agree adults have the choice to, but I can not stand for people getting in the heads of children convincing them thats the answer, when they have not had a chance to grow/spread their "oats", is my position.

@checkoutanytime fortunately kids who show signs of gender dysphoria get therapy and once there is a diagnosis they get puberty blockers in order for them to feel comfortable in their skin longer and to give them time to decide. Most of them already have socially transitioned by then.

Kids are not convinced into this it's the same panic all over again that we already had about gay people making kids gay...

@Gloomy therapy is mind control, those kids need to get out and play, and not be concerned over insignificant things like sex. Thats the problem, kids being influenced by a pampered society that glorifies SEX.

It's part of the forming of identity read up on the psychological development of kids and you'll know more.
It happens subconsciously until a certain age so you'll have kids being carefree and themselves until the social transitioning that already happened by then is met with bullying or other forms of discrimination.

Calling Therapy a form of treatment that massively helps people who struggle with their mental health "mind control" shows severe signs of ignorance. Educate yourself!

Also different gender expressions and identities have existed in various cultures so it has nothing to do with our current society.
