I believe it was just Meteorological Balloon, that deviated from course.
I believe it Spy Balloon, that was intentionally flown into U.S. territory

On February 3, 2023, concerns over national security and international relations were raised by
a rumored Chinese surveillance balloon over the continental United States, contributing to
already difficult tensions between Beijing and Washington.

On Wednesday, the high-altitude balloon was seen over Billings, Montana. It passed through the
Aleutian Islands of Alaska, crossed Canada, and into Montana.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry acknowledged the balloon came from Chinese territories but
noted that it was a weather balloon that had “deviated far from its planned course.” The said
spokesperson further denied that the balloon was used for spying and instead it was used for
research, mainly meteorological purposes.

Off the coast of South Carolina on Saturday, the American military shot down a suspected
Chinese spy balloon. According to defense officials, the debris landed in shallower water than
they had anticipated; 47ft (14m) of water, close to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
As of now, authorities are currently investigating the airship’s wreckage after a fighter jet shot it
out of the sky.
