Julian Assange did the work of an investigative journalist which exposed corruption, shameful behaviours and acts hidden behind the government's secrecy. That the government has a need for secrecy is not under question - but to use that to hide dishonest, corrupt and inhumane acts MUST be questioned and exposed. Successful democracy requires transparency and the exposure of corrupt practice.
