'Splain this to me, somebody

Just reading an article about Young Thug, on trial for gang activity, allegedly receiving a drug delivery while seated at the defendant's table with his lawyer.

The delivery guy was a co-defendant, Jeffery Williams, who is already serving a sentence for murder.

"He walked, unattended, to where Young Thug was seated with his attorney."

They're just wandering around the court room?
I mean yeah letting a convicted murderer wander around a courtroom seems like a good idea.
@MrBlueGuy I feel saner every day.

Sloppy work by the police officers - they get complacent and that's what happens.
@Ontheroad They're lucky all he did was deliver drugs.
I think the operative word is "co-defendant", meaning he was physically present at the trial (so that the accused can confront his accuser).

But I share you sense of bewildered outrage that this COULD happen.
@Mamapolo2016 Odd...
@SomeMichGuy Sure seems like there oughta be leash laws.
@Mamapolo2016 It's good that people DID react, but it is *still* odd to see.

I think we may have lost the war on drugs. Surrendered unconditionally.

I mean....what?!

@Mamapolo2016 I just don't understand. I had to see it for myself. I couldn't picture the absurdity.
@JaggedLittlePill If there's any location in the world where they ought to know what they're doing, it's a criminal court proceeding.
@JaggedLittlePill "They told me to make sure he got to the courtroom on time. Nobody said nuttin' about baby-sitting him once we got there."
I have no idea. Clearly he wasn’t searched.
@bijouxbroussard Astounding.
