I don't get the news stories about new pandemic waves after China eases lockdown
I mean the rest of the planet has been out of lockdown for ages. Heck India is next to China and haven't had a second resurgence, it'll be fine

The 'waves' are coming, or will come, from new strains of Omicron. I think there's enough data now, including vaccination rates, where experts can make accurate predictions.
Did read something interesting though. China has seen 4 deaths for every 1 million people. The U.S. is at 3,300 deaths per 1M.
I imagine not every death from Covid in China was reported. But the discrepancy is still pretty amazing.
