Musk Is On Another Bender

Musk went all out, trolling Apple.

He started out by tweeting, and tagging the Apple account.

Apple has mostly stopped advertising on Twitter. Do they hate free speech in America?

When Apple did not respond, he followed with, tagging Tim Cook's account:

What's going on here?

And Cook did not take the bait, Musk tweeted:

Apple has also threatened to withhold Twitter from its App Store, but won’t tell us why.

In the first two tweets, he gave a perfect example of why advertisers are fleeing Twitter, and will not be coming back.

With the last tweet, he proved that he's clueless when it comes to releasing an application that runs on the Apple platform.

Apple did not threaten to withhold the Twitter app. Apple is following the Apple developer platform process, that every single developer should be familiar with, and if he had not fired all the people who ran the show at Twitter, Musk would be familiar with it as well: before your application is pushed to the Apple Store, it must pass a technical review.

Maybe he should hire someone who knows what they're doing?

Forget Apple, I'm looking forward to see when he'll be booted from Google Play. That one is real painful. At least Apple won't reject your submission over and over with the same copy/pasted reply, sometimes even when you're not actually violating anything (but just triggered some automatic check) making its own tech "support" service impossible to reach. 🍿

The reality is that he needs Apple much more than Apple needs him. And I'm not sure Apple, as a private company, needs to explain anything to him. It's almost like he's realizing that actions have consequences.

@Ynotisay That’s what Republicans and what ever Elon calls himself hate about the current situation.

@justanothername You're right. "Free Speech" means "I can say whatever hateful, lying shit I want and it has to be accepted." And when people don't? It becomes a "Free Speech" issue. I'm not sure they've really thought it through.

Apple deciding where it wants to advertise and not advertise (as well as what it wants to include in its own app store) is itself free speech, so why does Elon hate free speech?
