Everyone is so busy pointing dirty fingers at the other side, they don't even realize they can't exist without one another. They are essentially the exact same monster and are using each other to create a divide. Now you have two sides claiming one another is evil or stupid so communication breaks down next each side will compare the other to past political parties that have committed unspeakable atrocities and claim they are seeking to gain toatal power and oppress the the other. So now they push each other to create fear to strengthen their resolve creating fanatics or soldiers. If you are on the left and calling the right fascist or you are on the right calling the left totalitarian communist. Congratulations you both are being used and have been fooled to fight with one another instead of focusing on the big picture. People in large groups tend to be fools following orders blindly from a leader they dont know fighting an enemy they dont know and has never hurt them personally.

@Heartlander the only difference is the people being targeted by each message. This exact thing has happened time and time again throughout history. The french revolution happen almost exactly the same way also look at Russia, Germany and Rome's fall. You can't see that both sides are pushing each other and using propaganda beome more radicalized trying to spark conflict. You see a big difference because you are incapable of removing yourself from the equation so you can see everything clearer. I was the same way and will get caught up from time to time.
