And yet the Bureau of Labor Statistics which publishes it states:
The Consumer Price Index (CPI) is a measure of the average change over time in the prices paid by urban consumers for a market basket of consumer goods and services.
How odd? You better have a talk with them and set them straight in the morning. Now have some warm milk, take your Lithium and go to bed.
@irishmolly72 There is nothing to set straight. CPI is a measure of average price changes. Inflation is the rate at which that average increases. That's not the same.
