3rd longest river drying up. Poyang Lake dries up

Why isn't this bigger news in North America? Do the governments in N A not want people to understand what the forseeable future is? If there were supply chain problems before what will the heatwave in China do to supply and demand?

Everywhere in the world is either drought or flood. Its being reported, but my impression is that most people are thinking ' oh well sooner or later things will get back to normal.'
Until it doesn't.
People rarely react to disaster until they're right in the middle of it.
We are in a very bad situation right now moving in an even worse direction. I know my own little vegetable garden gave hardly anything this year
So what are the big commercial farms like right now? The harvests can't be as usual.
