@Whyme he was asked for over a year to return them.
It is unlawful for him to have them. He lied(through his attorney, of course) and signed a document asserting that he had returned them all. Is it okay to break laws, as long as you were president, as long as you dont think they were very important? You have no clue of their importance.

As far as that list...do we know there is a list? If there is indeed a list, yes i would think those on it are doing everything in their power to keep it undisclosed.
But know this, there would not be just liberals on it.

@Whyme you see what disturbance going and taking back what isnt his has caused at this moment. This doj is doing everything to keep the sensationalism out of this. If trump hadnt advertised the search, no one would have known. Or it would have been a minute.
And regardless of what is in those papers, they were not his to take. Just because a broken law doesnt affect you personally, it doesnt mean that law was not broken.
And what did trump think he was going to do with twenty or thirty boxes of govt documents? What was the purpose in having them? In boxes, in a basement?
