Indiana GOP AG To Probe Doctor Who Provided Abortion To 10-Year-Old

Indiana’s Republican attorney general said Wednesday his office would investigate a doctor who provided an abortion to a 10-year-old girl who was raped and became pregnant.

Attorney General Todd Rokita appeared on Fox News to address reports the girl was forced to cross state lines from Ohio — where abortion is now illegal after about after six weeks of pregnancy — to Indiana. The story become national news after the Indianapolis Star Tribune first reported details of the case from Dr. Caitlin Bernard, who said the girl’s parents discovered she was six weeks pregnant and therefore ineligible for an abortion despite being sexually assaulted.

Indiana's GOP seized on the child’s ordeal as evidence more restrictions are needed to rein in abortion access. Rokita said his office would be looking into Bernard’s conduct, and focused more on what he called an “abortion activist acting as a doctor” than on the accused child rapist.

For the record: I do not believe this should have EVER been made public.

I am all for making points...but this little girl now has to live while grown adults on the television claim that the doctor is bad and some calling her a liar...etc.

All of them are now in danger. The doctors. The family. The child.

@JaggedLittlePill FWIW, no one will be able to name her. A 27 year old man was arraigned yesterday. He admitted to raping her twice. DNA from the Indiana clinic will be used to determine who fertilized the egg, as they believe one of her siblings may be involved.

This is a very complicated story, and there's a possibility of familial abuse/rape, which is why her mother had to sneak her to Indiana for an abortion. Ohio may go after the mother.

@Northwest well, that is all very fucked up. I was under the impression it was her father...i need to go read more about it because i have avoided due to it making me want to puke.

The truth is ...when we know who mom is we know who the child is.

@JaggedLittlePill ... And right on cue, the Texas Attorney General, this morning, sued the Biden Administration, over the Executive Order, requiting medical facilities to perform emergency abortions... These folks are coordinating their efforts.
