Forced to Carry... Birdie

A woman can't be 'forced to carry' and then 'give' birth. A gift by definition cannot be forced. When giving birth becomes a legal mandate, it is no longer a gift. In many US states, a woman has lost her right to give birth.

Well to be fair that was the case throughout most of history

Infanticide has been the point at which the unwanted child is killed

So it has always been a bit of a stretch to use the euphemism 'the gift of life'

@SW-User Not really. For most of the time that we have been on this planet, we were tribal hunter-gatherers with an extensive knowledge of plant medicine. Including the knowledge of plants that could terminate pregnancy.

Unless you think that knowledge was lost in civilisations that shifted to agriculture - in which case, fair enough, interesting view
