I remember when Tiger Woods had his his accident a few years ago. Within hours the story was on all the news outlets. That day or the next, the police held press conferences to inform the public everything they knew, and continued to have press conferences for quite a few days afterwards.

Paul Pelosi likewise was involved in an accident, just about a week ago. The police were called and he was arrested for DUI and having an excessive alcohol content in his blood. Unlike with Tiger Woods, practically none of the details beyond the above sentence have been released by the police.

Another difference is that when Tiger had his accidents, high on the list of reporter questions at the news conference was whether alcohol may have been involved. If it had been, I would imagine that the headlines would have bigger and the interest been far greater.

With Pelosi, it's already known that he had been drinking, so except for Fox, the news will be short lived.
