Is it wrong to talk about the political solutions to the gun problem just because there was another tragedy?

Is it unfair to conservatives to use current events as a reason for collective, political action-. Like passing new laws?

What do you think new laws would prevent that the old laws wouldn't? Serious question.
Changeisgonnacome · 61-69, F
@hippyjoe1955 same as Australia and New Zealand.

@hippyjoe1955 laws don't prevent anything. They only make it illegal.
Changeisgonnacome · 61-69, F
@Baremine laws that get rid of the guns have worked, but we expect failure from the Americans.

@Changeisgonnacome where have they worked. The criminals still get their guns. Ie the drug cartel.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Changeisgonnacome Do you have any evidence of that? A cop I know once told me that if he wanted an illegal handgun he could get one in about 5 minutes. Handguns are restricted weapons here in Canada so...

@hippyjoe1955 Australia and New Zealand have disarmed, Americans choose guns, because they're ruled by a violent minority.

@Changeisgonnacome A friend of mine tells of his family in Russia. The family was Mennonite and thus pacifist. The Cossacks would ride into their village and kill a few mennonites and rape a few mennonite women except the family of my friend. That family had a gun and the cossacks knew it. Guns are not evil and are not always used for evil purposes. Ever go for a walk on the tundra? They insist you take a gun in case you meet a polar bear.

@hippyjoe1955 we expect excuses and violence.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Changeisgonnacome And that proves what?
