Should professional politicians be barred from running for public office?

Why not have people with real life experience and actual jobs that have knowledge of being a member of the public making decisions?

Ah yeah what could go wrong by having absolutely incompetent/unqualified people running a nation /s
eli1601 · 70-79, M
@Elessar Pretty much what's going on right now.
Elessar · 26-30, M
@eli1601 Meh, there's no limits to how worse things can get.

Imagine if you were run like Russia.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
What is currently going on is pretty darn bad. @eli1601 @Elessar
Elessar · 26-30, M
@jackjjackson Could be (much) worse.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Probably will be until the dems are gone. @Elessar

@jackjjackson I don't recall you nor the other Republicans on here in the past few years sprinkling happiness all around. Almost as if things sucked just as much as now under a Rep admin.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Times were way better and you were whining then too. @Elessar
fanuc2013 · 51-55, F
@Elessar And the ones we have now are "competent"? Don't make me laugh!
Elessar · 26-30, M
Competency, lmao

@jackjjackson
and you were whining then too
Yeah because things sucked then and suck now. You'd notice that too if you didn't have pink tinted glass in front of your eyes.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
I work hard and don’t expect government handouts. @Elessar
Elessar · 26-30, M
@jackjjackson Complain with trump and his 5 trillion handout to corporations, then. Or is only poor people that you're disgusted by?
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
That is unintelligible. @Elessar
Elessar · 26-30, M
@jackjjackson Attacking the form, rather than the content, speaks volume about your position.

The point is, I don't recall you getting as outraged at Trump signing his "socialist" (as per Republican definition) bailout program worth 5 trillion USD.

It's almost like "socialism" is a problem only when the money goes to the poor, never when it's your puppet masters.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
What is proposed to go to the poor that is being currently blocked? @Elessar
Elessar · 26-30, M
@jackjjackson Don't deflect from my question. Where were you when trump handed out 5 TRILLIONS ($5,000,000,000,000)? I don't really recall any republican complaining about it.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
PPE money? That avoided harm to be public and ensured employment and business continuation? @Elessar
Elessar · 26-30, M
@jackjjackson 5 trillions USD for PPE? Amazon et. al. couldn't afford buying PPE for their workers without the govt. bailing them out?

Goodbye to the "free market", "pure capitalism" narratives you've been pushing until yesterday, I suppose.

I thought you said you didn't want free stuff handed out, yet, I don't see you enraged at 5 TRILLIONS of taxpayers money going into such socialist (republican definition) programs for corporations.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
You haven’t the faintest clue what I think and know. @Elessar
Elessar · 26-30, M
@jackjjackson But I have a pretty clear idea of what you selectively choose to ignore and what instead you'll whine about. You drones are all predictable.
