Putin Has His Nuclear Defense on High Alert

And some news commentator has said the doomsday clock has moved from 100 seconds to midnight to 30. How far out does a nuclear blast go? I mean instant obliteration, and then how much further is the fallout, where you would get radiation poisoning?

It depends on so many weather factors and where the strike is plus what type of missile.

I suppose you need to get as far away from the epicenter as possible, and major cities and military installations. @ravenwind43

@Carissimi if you aren't in the blast zone or general area from that then it comes down to wind patterns and how distilled the radiation is over the water. You could have pockets of highly radiated areas and then largely unaffected areas.
