There's, like, LOTS of variant's out there! Why? Because there isn't a level playing field throughout the world - Rich countries have more or less got themselves covered but the poorer ones haven't nearly as much coverage of the vaccine...
It's what the W.H.O. said would happen and, y'know, it's been happening ever since the virus hit! The media? Well, they blow everything up! Paranoia is the name of their game...which can, unfortunately lead to some people coming off their mental hinges! Lol!
People are to blame - every community has a collective of, shall we say, TWATS that resist against restrictions....which makes any government 'twitchy' about bigger restrictions, sadly....
Me? We're an Island here in the UK. Stop flow of tourists and business travel...masks on...look after the elderly and infirm....pay to keep businesses going...people work at home as much as they can. Fine (and imprison!) people that flaunt that law....
Meanwhile, roll out the vaccine initiative....push as much to the poorer countries as we can - in co-operation with other rich countries - and we would have been coming to an end of it by now!
That's just if Sammy Jo was PM, of course...
