Hidden Figures

Sarah Collins Rudolph, The fifth little girl, the only survivor of the Birmingham Alabama bombing of September 15, 1963. I weep for her. Four little innocent black girl's lives taken because of hatred. I didnt even know there was a survivor. I never learned about it in school. As a matter of fact, there are are hundreds of black history stories left out of school books that I found out on my own later, I guess because they would make people feel too shameful or embarrassed.🙄 Hundreds of hidden black American figures I have yet to learn about. I feel robbed. Im sure 9/11 event stories will always be around though. Sarah has a false eye and has to live with scars everyday. God bless her seeing how she was able to forgive. Anyway Sarah lives today and continues to tell her story. I hope she never stops sharing it as long as she has breath. They can take away the books but they cant silence her voice.

I had no idea someone had survived, either. We need to hear these stories, and hopefully from the very people who lived them. There is nothing at all wrong in understanding the pain and injustice of the past and working together to ensure no one has to endure the same treatment again. But until racism exists for a lot of white people, they won't lift a finger to do anything about it.
