Colectivo Coffee formed largest cafe workers union

This is huge! I'm happy for them there's too much exploitation out there. The coffee corporation tried to hire an anti union company that used common union busting tactics and it failed while the union won out in a first.

Victory. See this is what people fail to see what the pandemic is bringing. I'm not saying it's a good thing but at the same time it exposed a lot of the flaws in the working industry that now people have no choice but to make better.

To every chaos there is something that balances.

Unfortunately this will not effect ANY company in Texas. Their laws make ANY unions impossible.

It's a so called "Right to work state" and until a supreme court ruling is won against it (which is highly unlikely right now) nothing can be done. 😔

Texas is one of the few states that doesn't have a even a minimum wage. And only federal laws apply there.

Actually they even don't like the federal minimum wage. If it was up to the corporations absolutely no minimum wage would apply.

@DeWayfarer Right to work states are disgusting and should be abolished. I've gotten fired under right to work laws in which the manager literally told me he had no reason to give me for it. Of course I knew the reason but he couldn't say it because it would be illegal. But it's not illegal using right to work laws. He literally said "I don't need a reason."

@SatanBurger believe me I needed work bad. Yet I sure as heck shouldn't have had to risked my life doing so.

They even get around some Federal OSHA laws with that law. No union, no one credible to believe the violation.
