The Local News Turned My Stomach Last Night…

One grisly story after another. There was an Amber alert last night & I wanted to see what the story behind it was. A mother took her 2 children and fled. They found the woman and got the children back. The mother was released yesterday morning after being arrested for public drunk. She went to her father’s home & killed him and took her 2 children and left.

A man in a rural area was hit by a driver & killed, the man had backed out of his driveway & a chair fell off the back of his truck. He put on his emergency flashers to retrieve the chair & was hit as was his mailbox.

A teen on a bicycle was struck in a hit-and-run in SE OKC.

And the worst was residents in a home here found a decaying body in their basement. The house was 2 blocks from the university so I’m thinking that students had just moved into the house, they are starting to return to the city. The body was identified as a 22-year old woman. Wrapped in up to 60 layers of heavy plastic & put in a black box in the basement. A comment below the news story says that family was looking for her for years

I usually don’t watch the evening news at 10:00 and not sure if I want to any more.

Sometimes I think it best to just live in our own world, stay involved in our own lives, but what goes on could eventually affect us. The only reason I watch the news like anyone else is in case something like this is close to my doorstep.

@CastorTroy I hope they solve the crime of whoever did that to the girl. Sometimes when sitting at a stop light I look around at the people in cars around me and wonder if any of them have done such things..it’s not a good thought but you never know do you?

@cherokeepatti No, it isn't. I saw a movie called Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile with Zac Efron playing Ted Bundy, and at the end of the movie the narrator said:
"Murderers don't come out in the dark with long teeth and saliva dripping off their chin. People don't realize there are killers among them. People they liked, loved, lived with, worked with, and admired could turn out to be the most demonic people imaginable."
You can't completely trust anyone.

@CastorTroy I worked as a greeter at a Walmart near my home and there was a customer, a young guy in his early 20’s that would come in on the weekend….he always smiled as he entered, seemed like he had a very pleasant disposition. He murdered his neighbor who asked him to turn down his music because they had a baby that needed to go to sleep. He’s in prison now.

@CastorTroy John Wayne Gacy...he got away with murders for years before they caught him. And in my neighborhood, too. Worked as a clown and for the local alderman.

@MaryJanine Good Lord. Too close to home for you!

@MaryJanine He was the creepiest looking clown I’d ever seen a photo of back then….

@CastorTroy Today, my brother's father-in-law lives on the same block (Balmoral) where Gacy once lived. His former house was destroyed and the new one in its place renumbered.

@cherokeepatti Other people said the same.

@MaryJanine I read the book about him. He went to prison one time for molesting a child and when he got out he said he’d never go back to prison again. That’s why he was murdering all the boys he was having sex with. Some of them he lured by offering to pay them a large amount of money to do modeling.
