On Pride, dignity, and need.
Pride and dignity went on a walk one day. Not having a worry in the world , they hip hoppity hopped their way along the yellow brick road.
They went by the pond to watch the helicopter flies fly, and Carefully hung half their bodies over the cliffs to get a glimpse of the wall goats.
After walking for a bit they decided to go for a stroll in the woods.
Halfway in they came across NEED. And although they have seen NEED before , they have never seen it so big.
Before they could react, NEED Jumped up into the Air and within a second, it was on top of them.
Pride fought and fought and then fought some more, but at the end it was no match for that kind of monster and eventually fell.
Dignity resisted a little longer, but it too was not strong enough to overcome the enormous Need.
Up in the trees the monkeys and spiders together with the moles in the ground and the birds in the air laughed and judged.
NEED looked up slowly and with a hiss squinted it's eyes and said, just hope it's not one of you I come about next.
And there, on a dark mattress of wet leaves, looking up to the sky, pride and dignity became the first casualties of Need.
Some say they've seen them around although not the same. A lot more subdued. A lot quieter. They say.
