Go team fox! 🦊

Picture this...

He lives on five acres in the woods and wants to have a farm. Fair enough.

But there's foxes. He's been shooting at them and missing. Considering his house is about 100 feet away, I don't want this idiot shooting his gun that close. Also, it's illegal to shoot the foxes.

I explain that.

Last night, dog barking ALL NIGHT, no sleep. I text him at 1130 please make it stop. He texts me in the morning, no I won't that's my livestock dog scaring away the fox.

We are talking about a dozen chickens. All this for maybe a dozen chickens.

It's bad enough he lights the entire woods up at night and fires up his monster truck at 4 am. So sleep has already been an issue. Now dog barking all night.

For a dozen chickens you're trying to keep in the woods. The woods...

This is classic white man syndrome. The complete lack of regard for what exists around you and what was there before you.

Oh yeah he's my cousin. Oh yeah he's on my land that he ripped off my mom when she had dementia. Last weekend he hit a power line and everyone on the road lost power. His kids ride there four wheelers on my property. His crap is so close to the property line it's on my property now. Sometimes my son and I can't even play outside because he's cussing out his kids. Roosters crowing all damn day and night...

If you live on 100 acres and Wyoming, let that dog bark all night. But you literally live in a (now) suburban area. Yes when we were growing up we had the whole road to ourselves but our boomer parents sold everything and we have strangers up our asses 24/7.

I'm all for little farms and homesteads and making it work. But you cannot live in a way that means your neighbors can't sleep.

So if starts again tonight, I have a marine air horn for him and his family. So they can not sleep too.

All this because of a dozen chickens and one fox.

I'm team fox. And team air horn.

Sorry just super grumpy and needed to bitch.

I think you`ll find there is a ordinance saying that discharging a firearm within a certain distance of a dwelling is illegal. How often are the cops out there?

@Degbeme I have called him in for improper treatment of his animals before. The shooting I asked him to stop and he did because he knows how messed up that is.

Unfortunately he's a good ole boy and he gets away with a lot. He got away with running his landscaping business out of his house for years. Thankfully he found a space to rent so at least I don't have to listen to that anymore.

I have tried to be fair because he's family and my neighbor but he has done some really messed up stuff.

Another cousin was shooting foxes because they were out during the day 😭 he thought they had rabies. Foxes aren't strictly nocturnal so he was just shooting them for existing. It's illegal.

I get my family is used to having space, but it's different now. And we always coexisted with critters growing up, I don't know why they have to shoot everything.

@ScreamingFox Like you mentioned there is no need to shoot anything. Foxes are great for controlling vermin. Family or not, he needs to clean up his act. All that crap laying around is a breeding ground for mice and rats.
