In the park thinking about what was..

This is all that remains of a covered pavilion in the woods here..
It was originally built decades ago by a local boy scout troop and donated to the park..
It was 12×20.. with a shingle roof and picnic tables underneath but over the years it's been vandalized repeatedly.
Roofing ripped off, picnic tables burned in the fireplace and finally the entire roof was knocked down and over time every bit of wood burned and scattered..
The remaining chimney is now being taken apart stone by stone..
Kids sit around drinking in front of the fire and end up drunk climbing up to kick the stones loose.. then throw them in the woods or use them for a fire ring.
It's sad really.. it was a nice little area off the main trail for years.. sitting under cover in rain and snow.. but now it's gone.. in a few years there won't be anything left at all..
