They are called "Reh" in German. The males ones "Rehbock".

@Mugin16 Yes, I crouched down and observed him as he fed on saplings for a while. 😌

@Mugin16 No, he spotted me first and waited what I would do. When I spotted him he was looking at me at fixed position and waited for me to pass. When he saw I wouldn't come near he stopped minding me and got back to eating. :D

@CrazyMusicLover Are roe deers hunted in that small urban forest?

@Mugin16 I've never heard about it. Only wild boars but I have no idea how does it work. It sounds pretty dangerous since many people come to the woods and nearby areas anytime. There are many dog walkers and cyclists.

@CrazyMusicLover Wild boars are hunted here too. I think the hunters use to specially trained hunting dogs to find them. But it is dangerous and sometimes dogs get killed.
